Nice Design, Cool layout
We liked the design of the Mintbet site. It’s stylish light blue, black and white colour scheme gives off a classy, professional air and generally makes for a pleasant betting experience, especially when it’s allied to some reliable and robust technology. We also liked the layout – with the sports listed horizontally at the top of the page – which works nicely and makes a pleasant change from the three-column, sports listed in the left-sidebar approach of many. Odds are offered in either fractional or decimal form.
Juicy Bonuses on Offer
The first thing to say is there are loads – bonuses and promotions galore – but if you’re a sports bettor and you’re expecting to sign up for the first time and receive a welcome bonus, it’s going to end in disappointment. The only welcome bonus on offer pertains to the casino, but that shouldn’t put you off because there are some other great promotions.
We’ll avoid being too specific as these tend to change from time to time, but MintBet have been both generous and inventive, and have a range of offers that reward existing punters and cleverly lures in those who haven’t bet on their site before. For example, at the time of this review, they were offering a cracker for football fans who bet in first goalscorer markets, which could boost your profits by up to 100% if your selected player goes on to score two and then three goals. There is also one called the ‘Red Card refund promo’, which returns losing bets in outright Premier League betting if your selected team has a player sent off in the game, and there is another called ‘all sports ACCA insurance’, which in their words is “cash back as a Free Bet if one leg of your 5+ fold sports accumulator lets you down”. Another bonus worthy of note is one they describe as ‘£10 weekly free bet for life’, which is basically a weekly £10 free bet when £100 or more is wagered. Naturally, all of these promotions have to be considered in line with their specific terms and conditions.
Plenty of Sports on Offer on MintBet
Mintbet offer their customers betting markets for around 24 sports. It’s a diverse range that goes from football to horse racing to GAA Hurling, with many others in between and, while it avoids the floorballs and lacrosses, it presents their customers with a very sound selection. In addition, they have a range of special markets for things like Sports Personality of the Year and, wait for it, Strictly Come Dancing! Here’s the complete list:
Football, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Darts, Football, Golf, Greyhounds, Handball, Horse Racing, Hockey, Motor Sport, Snooker, Tennis
Within these sports, Mintbet cover thousands of markets every day with, unsurprisingly, football being by far their biggest sport. Football alone is covered by thousands of daily markets, from over 30 countries worldwide, and while their main focus is around the big European and South American leagues, they also have markets for lesser-known competitions such as the Japanese J-League and the Icelandic Premier League. International football is also well covered, both for friendlies and big tournaments like the World Cup and European Championships.
Continuing with football as the example, all matches covered will offer the popular markets such as match winner, total goals, the team to score first, first goalscorer, half-time result, double chance and draw no bet, but games in the ‘big’ leagues come with literally loads of alternative markets.
But beyond football, the other 23 sports are covered in similar detail with a similar number of markets, all of which are presented to MintBet customers in a logical, intuitive format, with horse racing betting – currently limited to UK and Irish racing – a particular favourite with punters.
MintBet offers the cash-out facility favoured by most online bookies, which allows the punter to settle their bet early without having to wait for a game or match to finish. This facility can be used to lock-in when a punter is ‘in profit’ on their selections in a winning position or to limit potential losses on those that look likely to be losing bets.
In terms of odds, MintBet offer their customers some value. Within the betting industry, it is generally recognised that odds compiled between 105% and 106% offer a fair price and so with theirs compiling to around 104.8%, they are offering their customers some decent value.
All Good for Betting on the Go and Live
MintBet offer their customers a very good mobile device and so those who wish to bet on the move are well catered for. The site is fully optimised for mobile web browsers such as Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer and can be accessed whenever your smartphone, tablet or phablet has an internet connection. Interestingly, in order to encourage punters to use their mobile devices to bet, Mintbet offer some specific mobile-only bonuses.
They have an app available for iOS devices, which can be downloaded directly from the Apple app store, and there is also a well-designed mobile site accessible through your mobile browser. Currently, there are no apps for Android or Windows devices.

The site is aimed at the UK and Irish markets, so therefore is in English and the currency used is sterling (£) and/or Euro. Only bettors in these two countries can use MintBet.
Safe and Secure – What More Can You Ask
In terms of security and safety we found no problems whatsoever with MintBet. It appeared rock solid and there was nothing found in an online search to suggest otherwise.
Their customer services team were also very helpful and engaging. They answered our queries quickly and efficiently through their live chat facility, and there is also an email helpline (enquiries@mintbet.com).
Our Verdict
Mintbet is a site we like. It looks good, works well and does everything the discerning punter asks of a sports betting site. It’s understated look also appeals to us and, as well as a healthy selection of sports and markets, there are some good value odds on offer.
As a mobile site it also works very well indeed, and the customers services team is up there with the best. All in all, it’s a good package.
For all that, it still lacks the quality of our top-rated bookies and doesn’t give new customers a sign-up offer. For the best online bookmakers check our best betting sites below.
